We work in natural stone and engineered stone: Italian marble including Carrara, Calacatta and Statuario, plus Emperador, travertine and onyx; granite; engineered quartz; porcelain slabs and sintered stone. Each behaves differently under a Dubai kitchen, a wet room or a lobby floor, and we say plainly which one suits the room. Stone selection and sourcing starts with a slab viewing. You stand in front of the actual block, we mark the veining you want on the finished face, and nothing is cut until you have signed the layout. Supply and installation is quoted as one number, so there is no argument later about whose fault a chipped edge is.

A kitchen countertop takes more abuse than any other stone in the house. A quartz countertop is non-porous, needs no sealing and handles daily cooking without a thought, which is why white quartz is the safe answer for most Dubai kitchens. A granite countertop or granite worktop is the toughest natural option and takes heat well; black galaxy granite is still the most requested. Marble is the most beautiful and the least forgiving, because it etches on contact with lemon, vinegar or descaler.

Kitchen island top, waterfall countertop and kitchen backsplash in marble are the three details that decide how a kitchen reads. A waterfall needs a mitred corner cut from the same slab so the veining turns the edge without a break. A full-height marble backsplash has to be book-matched to the worktop, which means both pieces come off the same block. We draw all three on the shop drawing before the saw runs.

Stone edge profiles change the price as much as the material does: a simple bullnose, a bevelled arris or a mitred build-up at 40, 60 or 100 mm all cost differently. Slab thickness matters too — 20 mm is standard, 30 mm reads heavier and costs more, and a mitred build-up gives a 20 mm slab the look of a much thicker top.

A bathroom vanity top is the easiest place to use a stone you love, because the surface never meets a hot pan. We fabricate single and double vanity tops with undermount or vessel basins, a carved marble sink where the design calls for it, and matching upstands and splashbacks. Marble shower walls and a shower niche are cut from the same slab, so the veining carries from wall to niche without a joint landing in the wrong place.

Wet areas punish stone in ways a kitchen does not. Dubai water is hard, so a light marble left unsealed will show a white bloom within months, and a shower tray in a porous stone will darken where the water sits. We specify an impregnating sealer for porous stone, set the fall on the shower floor before laying, and use a stone-safe silicone at every internal corner rather than grout that will crack.

Marble flooring installation is a levelling job before it is a stone job. The screed has to be flat and dry, the slabs have to be dry-laid so you can see the pattern before anything is bonded, and the joints have to be set so the pattern lands square on the room rather than on the setting-out line. Book-matched marble and marble inlay both need that dry-lay; you cannot correct a mirrored pattern after the adhesive has gone off.

Marble wall cladding and stone wall cladding go on differently depending on height and weight. Up to a certain panel size we bond; above it we use a mechanical fixing with stainless cramps, so nothing relies on adhesive alone. Marble skirting, window sills and thresholds are cut from the same batch as the floor, which is the detail most contractors get wrong when they order the floor first and the trims later.

Stone works in Dubai follow the same five steps whether the job is one vanity top or a full lobby floor. Nothing is cut until you have approved a layout, and nothing is sealed until every joint has been polished flush.

A TV wall marble panel or an accent wall is the one place where the slab itself is the design. Book-matched marble — two slabs opened like a book so the veining mirrors down a centre line — turns a blank wall into the reason people walk into the room. We photograph the slabs at the yard, lay the match out digitally, and show you the finished wall before we cut it.

The same thinking covers a fireplace surround, marble columns, a marble reception desk and a marble dining table top. All of them are one-piece details where a joint in the wrong place ruins the object, so they are templated on site rather than measured off a drawing. Backlit onyx needs a light box built behind it and a slab thin enough to glow evenly, which we check before ordering.

A marble staircase is measured step by step, because no concrete stair in Dubai is identical from top to bottom. Every tread and riser is templated individually, nosings are profiled to match, and marble skirting follows the rake of the flight in one continuous line. We dry-fit the whole flight before bonding, so you can see the veining run up the stair rather than change direction halfway.

Stair cladding over an existing flight is a different job: the old finish comes off, the structure is checked for level, and the stone thickness is chosen so the rise stays even across every step. Slip resistance matters on a polished stone stair, so we hone or leather-finish the tread surface wherever the stair is used barefoot or sits beside a pool.

Exterior wall cladding has to survive 48-degree afternoons, sandstorms and the occasional downpour, so the fixing system matters more than the stone. Limestone, sandstone and travertine all suit a Dubai stone facade, and GRC panels give the same look at a fraction of the weight where the structure cannot carry stone. Anything above a low boundary wall goes on a mechanically fixed system with stainless anchors and a drained cavity behind it.

Outdoor stone paving, pool deck stone and garden stone need a different surface again. Around a pool we use a honed, flamed or bush-hammered finish that stays grippy when wet, bedded to a fall so water runs away from the coping, and sealed against chlorine and salt. Polished marble outside a Dubai villa looks superb on day one and becomes a hazard after the first swim.

Most dull marble in Dubai is not worn out, it is etched. Lemon, vinegar, wine and limescale remover attack the polish chemically within seconds, and no amount of cleaning brings it back. Marble grinding, marble polishing and marble crystallisation are three stages of the same process: flatten the surface with diamonds, bring the shine back through finer grits, then harden and seal it. We do the whole sequence in place, room by room.

Repairs are cheaper than replacement almost every time. Marble crack repair and chip repair are done with a colour-matched resin, cured and polished flush so the line disappears. Stain removal depends on what went in: oil, rust, ink and organic stains each need a different poultice. Once the surface is right, marble sealing with an impregnating sealer keeps it that way, at our published rate of AED 35 to 80 per square metre.

Commercial stone works run to a handover date and an inspection, not just a drawing. We fabricate reception counters and marble reception desks, lift lobby cladding, marble columns, restaurant bar and table tops, washroom vanities and hotel corridor flooring. Lobby floors are the hardest brief in Dubai, because they take suitcase wheels, sand and cleaning machines all day, so we specify the stone for traffic first and looks second.

Night work, mall access permits and staged delivery are routine for us, so a shop or restaurant can keep trading while the stone goes in behind hoarding. For a restaurant we push quartz or sintered stone on anything that meets food, because it needs no sealing and shrugs off acid, and keep the marble for the front-of-house surfaces people actually look at.

Stone works cost in Dubai is driven by the material first, the fabrication second and the access last. Countertop cost per sq ft, marble flooring cost and cladding cost per sq ft all move with the slab you pick: the same cutting on a quartz slab and on an exotic marble gives completely different totals. The rates below are our published supply-and-install ranges. Divide by about 10.8 to read them per square foot.
