Outdoor signage in Dubai fails in predictable ways: raw mild steel bleeds rust streaks down a wall, cheap vinyl chalks and peels within a season, and sealed trays fill with condensation. We specify marine-grade aluminium, stainless fixings, UV-rated films and drained, vented trays as the standard build, not an upgrade. Building signage at height and rooftop sign work is fixed with engineered brackets and installed from a certified access platform.

Built-up 3D letters are the core of most signage works in Dubai. We make 3D acrylic letters in solid or face-lit form, stainless steel letters in brushed or mirror polish, brass and copper for heritage and hospitality fronts, powder-coated aluminium for colour matching, and wooden signs where a softer finish suits the interior. Flat laser-cut signs and CNC-cut letters cover the budget end without looking cheap, provided the material thickness is right.

Illumination decides how the sign reads after dark. Front-lit letters push light through an acrylic face and are the brightest at street level. Halo-lit letters bounce light off the wall behind for a quieter, more expensive look. Backlit letters combine both. We build with IP-rated LED modules and drivers rated for the heat inside a sealed letter, because module failure is what kills a sign long before the metal does.

Interior signage works in Dubai are judged at close range. Office signage is read from two metres away in good light, so the tolerances are tighter than anything outdoors. A reception logo sign has to sit dead level, with even letter spacing and no visible fixings or adhesive shadow. Wayfinding is the part of signage works in Dubai that clients under-budget and complain about afterwards. A working system needs directional signs at every decision point, floor numbers in the lift lobby and the stair core, room name plates and door signs that match the drawing register, and a directory board at the entrance. We number and schedule every sign against the floor plan so nothing is missed on site and nothing is made twice.

Door signs, desk name plates and room plates are made with changeable inserts where staff move, and fixed engraving where they do not. Outside, a totem sign, pylon sign or monument sign carries the building name to the road, and car park signage marks levels, bays and routes. Illuminated signage is where most of the cost of signage works in Dubai and nearly all of the failures sit. A lightbox sign in acrylic suits small fascias and menus; a flex face sign in tensioned PVC covers large spans without the panel joints showing; an aluminium composite ACP sign gives a flat, modern face at a lower cost per square metre.

Neon is back, but almost always as LED neon rather than glass. We bend flex-neon to artwork for cafes, salons, gyms and event backdrops, mount it on clear or painted acrylic, and run it at a safe low voltage with a concealed driver. Custom neon for a wall behind a counter is one of the few signs that pays for itself in photographs.

Not every part of signage works in Dubai needs to be built in metal. Window graphics turn dead glass into frontage: frosted window film for privacy at desk height, one-way vision perforated film that reads as a full image outside while staff still see out, and cut vinyl lettering for opening hours, offers and contact details. Glass stickers and manifestation dots also satisfy the safety marking that building management asks for on full-height glazing.

Inside, wall graphics, wall decals and printed wall murals cover a lot of wall for very little money, and office wall branding in cut vinyl lettering gives a mission statement or a value wall without any build-up at all. We print on cast media for curves and rivets, calendered for flat runs, and laminate anything that will be touched or cleaned. On a construction site, signage works in Dubai begin before anything else does. We print and install hoarding boards and construction site boards that screen the works, carry the project signboard details the authority wants displayed, and sell the finished scheme to passers-by. Panels are fixed to a braced timber or steel frame so a gust off the creek does not take the hoarding with it.

For event and exhibition signage we build stands, backdrops, display stands, totems, roll-up banners and flags, and we supply menu boards and digital signage screens for cafes and clinics. Signage works in Dubai begin on paper. Signage design starts with your logo and ends with a mock-up on a photograph of your own shopfront, so you can judge proportion before anything is cut. We adapt logo artwork for the material — thickening hairline strokes that will not survive in 3 mm acrylic, redrawing gradients that cannot be cut, setting the Arabic line so it balances the English rather than trailing under it.

Fabrication happens in our own workshop: laser and CNC cutting, bending, welding, spraying, acrylic polishing and LED wiring under one roof, with outdoor-rated, weatherproof and UV-resistant materials used as standard on anything that faces the sun. Installation is done by our own fixing team, including removal of old signage and making good behind it. We also take on sign maintenance and LED repair on signs we did not build. Approvals are the slowest part of signage works in Dubai. Almost every external sign needs permission before it goes up. A Dubai Municipality signage permit is the usual route on mainland streets, and it wants scaled drawings, elevations showing the sign in place, material specifications and the trade licence that the wording on the sign must match. Illuminated work brings an electrical connection and Dubai Civil Defence considerations into the same submission.

Leased units add a second layer. A mall signage approval runs through the centre management design team, an office tower usually needs a building management approval and a signage NOC from the owners association, and a free zone approval is handled by the authority itself — DMCC, JAFZA, DDA or Trakhees each publish their own fascia rules. We prepare and submit the drawing pack for these approvals as part of the job; fees charged by the authority are passed on at cost.

Signage cost in Dubai is driven by four things: area, material, whether it lights up, and how hard it is to reach. A flat-cut acrylic office logo sign price sits in the low hundreds; a 3D letter price rises with letter height, return depth and finish, and stainless costs roughly double acrylic for the same set. Shop sign cost for an illuminated fascia is normally quoted per square metre of fascia, with the LED build, the tray and the fixing included.
