Most people looking for glass works Dubai already know what they want the glass to do — divide a room, close a shower, guard a staircase, hide a kitchen. What they need is a glass company in Dubai that measures properly, specifies the right glass and turns up with panels that actually fit. That is the part we take seriously, and it is why we survey every job ourselves before a single sheet is cut.

We handle glass and aluminium works together, because on most jobs the two are inseparable: a slim-frame partition, a shower with an aluminium profile, a sliding door running in an aluminium track. Frames are fabricated to the same drawing as the glass, so nothing is packed out or trimmed on site.

Everything we install is safety glass. Tempered glass, also called toughened glass, is heat-treated so it is several times stronger and breaks into blunt granules. Laminated glass holds together on an interlayer when it breaks, which is why it is used overhead and on balustrades. Frosted glass and tinted glass add privacy and cut glare.

Glass thickness is chosen by span and by duty, not by taste: 8mm for light screens and cabinet glass, 10mm for most shower enclosures and framed partitions, 12mm for frameless partitions and doors, and laminated build-ups for balustrades and anything overhead. All of it is safety glass, and we will tell you plainly when a cheaper thickness is the wrong call.

Glass cutting and fabrication is done to your measurements, not to a catalogue. Made-to-measure glass means every hole, notch, hinge cut-out and polished edge is set out from the survey drawing, so the panel arrives finished and is fitted once.

Of all the glass works in Dubai we are asked for, partitions come first, because a frameless glass partition is the only way to split a space without losing the light. In an office it turns an open floor into cabins and meeting rooms while everyone can still see the windows; at home it closes off a study, a stair void or a living area without making either side feel smaller.

An office glass partition is usually built as a glass cabin: floor-to-ceiling panels, a glass door on patch fittings or a floor spring, and meeting room glass specified for acoustics where the room needs to hold a conversation. Double-glazed acoustic partitions cost more per square metre but they are the difference between a meeting room and a goldfish bowl.

Where you want the lines read rather than disappear, we build a glass partition with aluminium frame — slim profiles in silver, bronze or black. A black frame glass partition, often called a Crittall-style partition, has become the standard look for Dubai villas and loft-style offices, and it lets us break a wide opening into proportioned panes rather than one huge sheet.

Privacy is handled with film rather than by replacing glass. Glass film is applied to the finished panel: frosted film for a full or banded blur, privacy film where a cabin needs to be opaque from waist height, and sun control film on west-facing glass to cut heat and glare. Film can be changed later without touching the glass or the frame.

Of all the glass works in Dubai that change a room, a frameless shower enclosure is the single upgrade that makes a bathroom look renovated. Clear 10mm toughened glass, polished edges, minimal hardware and no bottom track — the tiling and the sanitaryware become the room, and the glass simply disappears.

Not every bathroom needs a full shower cubicle. A walk-in shower screen — one fixed panel, sometimes with a short return — is cheaper, easier to clean and works where the drainage falls away from the opening. A bathtub screen does the same job over a tub, hinged or fixed, and is the quickest fix for a bathroom that currently relies on a curtain.

The shower glass door is where the money goes and where cheap jobs fail. A hinged door needs glass shower hinges rated for the panel weight and a header bar if the span is wide; a sliding shower door needs a true track, proper rollers and a soft close, not a wheel running on a folded aluminium channel. We use hardware in brushed nickel, matt black, chrome and brushed brass, and we will tell you the weight limit before you choose.

Because we also tile and waterproof, the glass is set out against the finished tile rather than the wall behind it. Silicone lines follow the grout, the door swings clear of the vanity, and the threshold drains the right way.

Balustrades are the glass works in Dubai where safety and specification matter most, because a glass balustrade does two jobs that used to fight each other: it stops people falling and it lets you keep the view. On a staircase it makes the treads look like they float; on a balcony it hands the whole outlook back to the room behind it.

A glass staircase railing is fixed either into a base channel set along the stringer or on stainless standoff fittings through the panel. Channel gives the cleanest line and costs more; standoffs are quicker and suit a stair that steps rather than runs. Either way the panel is laminated, because a balustrade must hold together if it is ever broken.

Outside, a balcony glass railing takes the same laminated build-up with marine-grade fixings, because Dubai’s salt air will find any stainless that is not up to grade. A frameless glass railing on a terrace glass barrier reads as no barrier at all, which is the point. A glass pool fence is a separate specification again: laminated glass, self-closing gate hardware and set heights and gaps that exist purely to keep children out of the water.

Balcony work needs paperwork. Almost every tower in Dubai requires building management or developer approval for balcony glass before anything is fixed to the structure, and some communities restrict height, tint and fixing type. We prepare the drawing and the application as part of the job rather than leaving you to argue with the management office.

Glass sliding doors are the quickest way to make a Dubai apartment feel bigger than its floor plan. A wide opening onto a balcony or courtyard, glazed corner to corner and running on a proper track, turns two rooms into one for most of the year.

Folding glass doors stack back against the reveal instead of sliding past a fixed pane, so you get the whole opening rather than half of it. They cost more, need a deeper track and a level threshold, and they are worth it on a terrace you actually use. On narrower openings a single sliding leaf on a surface track does the same trick for a fraction of the price.

Glass entrance doors are their own discipline. A frameless leaf on a floor spring needs the spring box cast or cut into the slab, a patch fitting top and bottom and a rail or handle sized to the glass. We set the closing speed and the hold-open angle on handover, and we come back and reset it after the first few weeks once the spring has bedded in.

Mirror installation is the cheapest of all the glass works in Dubai by the square metre. A full-length mirror at the end of a corridor doubles it; a mirrored wall behind a dining table borrows the window opposite. The craft is in the edge, the fixing and the backing — not in the glass itself.

A gym mirror wall has to be distortion-free and it has to be safe, which means mirror on a backing film, fixed on a rail system rather than on adhesive alone. A bathroom mirror is usually cut to the vanity with a polished or bevelled edge; an LED mirror carries a sandblasted light band and a concealed driver, so the electrical point has to be set out before the tiling goes on.

We also cut mirror to awkward shapes — arched, circular, notched around a socket or a shelf bracket — and we replace de-silvered panels in old wardrobes and bathroom units without replacing the joinery.

A glass kitchen enclosure is the Dubai answer to a problem open-plan living created. An open kitchen looks wonderful and sends the smell of every fried breakfast into the living room. Glazing the opening keeps the light and the sightline and stops the cooking crossing the threshold.

The usual build is a kitchen glass partition across the opening with a sliding or hinged glass door in it — a closed-to-open kitchen you can run either way depending on what is on the stove. Slim black frames suit most Dubai apartments; frameless panels suit a villa where the opening is wide and the ceiling is high.

While the kitchen is open we usually fit the glass splashback at the same time. A kitchen glass backsplash is a single back-painted sheet in any colour, cut around sockets and the extractor, with no grout line to stain and nothing behind it for grease to sit in. It is the easiest surface in the kitchen to keep clean.

Replacement is one of the steadiest glass works in Dubai, because glass fails for reasons that have nothing to do with the glass. A door slams once too often, a table top chips at the corner, a window is caught by a scaffold pole, a double-glazed unit loses its seal and fogs from the inside. We survey, template, fabricate and fit the replacement panel.

Broken glass repair is really two jobs: making the opening safe today and fitting the right panel a few days later once it has been toughened. Toughened glass cannot be cut after treatment, so a broken shower door or partition panel has to be made new to the exact size — which is why an accurate template on day one matters more than speed.

Window glass replacement in a tower brings its own constraints: access, working hours, and lifting a panel that two people can barely carry. We plan the route before we order the glass. In villas the work is simpler and we can usually replace a cracked pane within the week.

Smaller pieces get the same treatment. We cut and replace glass shelves, glass cabinet doors and glass table tops to the original size with polished or bevelled edges, so a damaged unit is repaired rather than thrown out.

Commercial glass works in Dubai are judged from the pavement. Shopfront glass is what decides whether someone walks in, and a mall unit that is glazed badly — heavy mullions, a visible track, a door that sticks — looks cheap no matter what is on the shelves behind it.

We build shopfront glazing, glass display windows and showroom glass to the mall’s own fit-out specification, including the manifestation dots or bands most landlords insist on. Inside, the same crews fit display cases, glass shelving and counter glass, so the shopfitting and the glazing are one package and one snag list.

Offices get partitions, cabin glazing and frameless entrance doors; restaurants get screens between the seating and the pass, glazed wine displays, splashbacks behind the service line and toughened glass to any opening the public can reach. Clinics and salons get the same work with privacy film and washable back-painted panels.

Overhead work is a separate specification. A glass canopy, a glass roof or a skylight is always laminated, because anything above head height has to stay in its frame when it breaks. Falls, drainage and thermal movement are designed in, and we coordinate with the waterproofing rather than siliconing over someone else’s detail.

Two questions come up before any other. Shower enclosure cost: a fixed 10mm screen runs AED 220 to 340 per square metre and a frameless enclosure with a hinged door AED 280 to 420, so a typical Dubai shower lands between roughly AED 1,600 and AED 3,200 fitted, depending on size and hardware. Glass partition cost per sq ft: our frameless 12mm partition is AED 520 to 750 per square metre, which is about AED 48 to 70 per square foot including the glass, the fittings and the fitting.

Glass works in Dubai are priced by the square metre of glass plus hardware, so rates move with thickness, edgework, hardware finish and access. Low-iron extra-clear glass carries an uplift because the greenish cast of standard float glass shows badly on a thick frameless panel; printed or frosted manifestation is priced separately because it is applied after the glass is made. Hardware in matt black or brushed brass costs more than chrome.
